Record meetings with video
An admin turns video on for the workspace, for online meetings, desktop recordings or both. Where to watch a recording back, and how long video is kept.
Your recordings can include video as well as audio. Video gives you the moment behind a quote: how a buyer sounded when they named the pain, how an objection actually landed, what they reacted to on your screen share. You play it back from the transcript, so you can jump straight to the part you need.
Turn video on
Video is a workspace setting, so an admin turns it on for everyone. Individual members can't switch it on for themselves.
An admin goes to Settings → Meetings and chooses where video gets recorded: online meetings, meetings recorded with the desktop app, or both. Either one can stay off.
It applies to the meetings you record from then on, so recordings you already have stay audio only.
Allow screen recording on Mac
If your admin turned video on for the desktop app, Mac needs the Screen Recording permission before the app can capture it. Until you grant it, the app records audio only, so you won't lose a meeting while you sort it out. You'll also need the latest version of the desktop app.
Don't have the app yet? See Install the desktop recorder.
Where to find the video
Open the meeting and click View transcript on the meeting summary. The recording plays there, and clicking any timestamp jumps to that moment while the transcript follows along.
Quotes carry timestamps too. A quote behind an insight, a deal health read or an objection takes you to the moment it was said, and a link you share can point at an exact moment.
How long video is kept
Video and audio are kept for your workspace's retention period, shown in Settings, then deleted. The transcript, summary and insights stay, so a meeting keeps its history after the recording itself is gone.
Who can see a video recording
Video is part of the recording, so the sharing settings on that recording decide who can open it. Who sees your recordings covers the defaults and how to change them for one meeting or one recording.
