Connect Salesforce
Connect Salesforce so Scalign preps you with account and opportunity context and adds a note to the right account after every sales meeting.
Connect Salesforce and Scalign uses your account, contact and opportunity data when it preps you for a meeting and when you ask the assistant about an account. After every sales meeting, it adds a short meeting note to the matching account in Salesforce. Nothing else changes in your CRM unless you approve it.
Connect Salesforce
- In Scalign, go to Settings → Connections.
- Under CRM, click Connect on the Salesforce card.
- Sign in to Salesforce and allow the requested permissions. You're sent back to Scalign with Salesforce connected.
What Scalign does with Salesforce
- Context. Meeting prep and the assistant read the account, its contacts and open opportunities, so you don't have to look them up.
- A note after every sales meeting. Scalign matches the meeting's external attendees to an account by their email domain and adds a note: a one-line headline, why the meeting happened, the key points, and the agreed next steps. Internal meetings get no note.
- Changes you approve. Ask the assistant to move an opportunity to another stage, update its value, create an account or opportunity, or add a note to an account or opportunity. Each change shows an approval step in the app first; nothing is written until you approve.
Share Salesforce with your workspace
The connection belongs to you: notes and changes are always written with your own Salesforce user. An admin who connected Salesforce can turn on Share with the workspace on the Salesforce card. Scalign then reads Salesforce context through that connection for everyone's meetings (read-only), so colleagues who haven't connected still get CRM context. Colleagues who want notes written for their own meetings click Connect your own.
Permissions
Scalign acts as your Salesforce user, so your profile, permission sets and sharing rules decide what it can see and change. It asks Salesforce for:
api— read and write accounts, contacts and opportunities through the Salesforce API, as your user.refresh_token,offline_access— stay connected without signing in again.openid— identify the Salesforce user who connected.
Disconnect
On the Salesforce card under Settings → Connections, click Disconnect. Scalign stops accessing Salesforce; data already brought into Scalign stays, and you can reconnect any time. If your connection was shared with the workspace, everyone loses the CRM context that came from it. You can also revoke Scalign's access from your Salesforce settings.
Troubleshooting
- The card says Needs reconnect. Salesforce stopped accepting Scalign's access (a password change, an expired session or a revoked app). Click Reconnect.
- No note appeared after a meeting. Notes are written for sales meetings with external attendees whose email domain matches an account in Salesforce. Check the account has the right domain (website) in Salesforce, and that the card doesn't say Needs reconnect.
- The note landed on the wrong account. Two accounts probably share the attendees' domain. Fix the domain on the one that shouldn't have it.
